This week we will be reading "Dear Mr. Blueberry" by Simon James on pages 68-88. We will be bringing this story home to read on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well as part of next week. We will have a test over this story on Tuesday.

Our vocabulary words that go along with this story are: details, disappoint, forcibly, information, oceans and stroke.

Help your child become a better reader. Sit down and listen to your child read, take turns reading each page with him/her, and ask questions about the story as you read along. The more books they read the better reader they will become!

This week we will be working on Topic 9 using models to subtract two- and one-digit numbers, subtracting two- and one-digit numbers, using models to subtract two-digit numbers and subtracting two-digit numbers. We will have homework on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Each day we will take a one-minute addition test. Students need to know their math facts. Please practice math addition facts with your child each night. The student should be able to add quickly in their head without using their fingers or a number line. This can be done with addition flash cards or orally as well.
